No, there was no american football played at the Future Mobility Park on May 24, but for the first time, a drone landed on the park's unique vertiport, the Galileo stop M4H.

It had been in the air for a while, but during Rotterdam's Upstream festival it could now actually be made possible: the first drone landing on the vertiport (or droneport) of the FMP. Under the interest of specialists from the drone world, the DJI Matrice 300 landed on the vertiport at exactly 12:31.  It was then officially opened with a cordial ribbon cutting by Jouke Goslina (Program Director RDM Rotterdam). Other speakers were Director of the FMP, Lucien Linders and Tsjerk Kooistra (CEO of the Dutch Drone Company).

Below is an impression of the event in pictures. Read the interview with our expert in the field Robin here, to learn more about droneport and its possibilities in the future.

The landing was made possible by a great partnership with Port of Rotterdam, Municipality of Rotterdam, DDC - Smart Inspections, Province of South Holland and Bayards Vertiports. Future Mobility Park is another step closer to facilitating drone flights between two locations in a complex environment of city, airport and port.
